Recently reports emerged that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama ‘Padmavati’ is being postponed.

The movie ever since its inception landed in trouble and faced many shooting delays. Due to these reasons apparently Sanjay Leela Bhansali is being forced to move the movie to a later date.

DNA quotes a source close to the film’s unit who says, “SLB had an October 20 deadline, which is impossible to meet now. The workers’ strike took away a few important days. Meanwhile, two of the principal actors — Deepika and Shahid — also had free dates, so they took off on vacations. A lot of the shoot is still left. The major chunk may have been shot, but some big action sequences are still left. Ranveer’s portions as the young Alauddin Khilji, too, remain to be shot.”

But when asked about the delay Shahid Kapoor denied it.

“We have not yet said anything about any delay. You guys are the ones deciding everything,” said Shahid Kapoor.

When questioned about the release date he said, “You will know very soon.”

‘Padmavati’ stars Deepika Padukone in the titular role of Rani Padmini. Shahid Kapoor will play Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, the 42nd ruler of Mewar and husband of Padmini. Ranveer Singh will essay the role of Alauddin Khilji, the second Sultan of the Khilji Dynasty, who fell in love with Padmini. And Aditi Rao Hydari will play the wife of Alauddin Khilji.

'Padmavati' is a periodic film that tells the story of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, who was infatuated with Rajput queen Padmavati.

The film is all set to release in November 2017.
